About the Role:V2 Retail is looking for a creative and experiencedSenior Designer Kidswearto lead the kidswear category design function. This role involves designing seasonal collections, leading a small team, and working closely with sourcing and merchandising teams to bring fashion-forward yet value-driven products to life. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design, well-versed in current trends, and have strong experience in the mass-market fashion segment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development Create original apparel designs for kidswear (and support men s/women s lines when needed) across categories such as ethnic, casual, western, and innerwear.
• Develop seasonal collections and fashion capsules aligned with current trends and pricing strategies.
• Use tools likeAdobe IllustratorandCorelDRAWto prepare fashion sketches, tech packs, and print developments.
• Trend Market Analysis Conduct research on market trends, colors, fabrics, silhouettes, and customer behavior in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
• Study competitor offerings and buying trends to build relevant and desirable assortments.
• Range Planning Assortment BuildingCreate collections as per the seasonal option plan and pricing matrix in coordination with the merchandising team.
• Maintain a balanced mix of core and fashion-forward styles suited for value-conscious customers.
• Team Management Cross-Functional CoordinationLead and mentor a team of junior designers and product coordinators.
• Work with sourcing, merchandising, and production teams to ensure timely execution of designs from concept to shelf.
• Vendor Sample DevelopmentCoordinate with fabric and print vendors for product development.
• Manage sample timelines and ensure quality and fit approvals.
• Qualifications Skills:Degree or Diploma in Fashion/Apparel Design from NIFT, Pearl Academy, JD Institute, or a recognized fashion institute.
• Minimum7 years of experiencein apparel design, preferably in value retail or large-scale production setups.
• Proficient inAdobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, MS Excel, andGoogle Sheets.
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, fit, cost-effective design, and garment manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication, team leadership, and time management skills.
