Job Summary
Design, review, and deliver transmission line tower designs and drawings for HV/EHV projects. Lead detailing work and ensure accuracy as per standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of transmission line towers (lattice structures) for HV/EHV lines
- Perform advanced structural analysis including load cases (wind, seismic, broken wire conditions)
- Review and approve detailed fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and shop drawings
- Ensure accuracy in tower geometry, member design, and connection detailing
- Interpret and validate engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents
- Coordinate with project, site, procurement, and fabrication teams
- Ensure compliance with IS, IEC, and project-specific standards
- Handle design optimization for cost efficiency and structural safety
- Review BOM, material take-offs, and design documentation
- Resolve complex design and execution-related issues
Required Skills Competencies
- Strong expertise in transmission line tower design and structural behavior
- Proficiency in tools like STAAD Pro, PLS Tower, PLS-CADD, AutoCAD
- In-depth knowledge of relevant IS Codes (IS 802, IS 875, IS 800, etc.) and IEC standards
- Strong ability to read, review, and approve engineering drawings
- Experience in design validation and peer review processes
- Leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication and cross-functional coordination
Preferrance :-
- Ability to independently handle complete tower design packages
- Ownership of design quality and timelines
- Active role in client discussions and technical review
- Experience in EPC / power transmission projects is highly preferred
