Your Future Tasks
Concept Development
- Develop innovative design concepts for automotive plastic components.
- Drive product development activities from concept through production.
Plastic Bumper & Trim Design
- Design and develop automotive plastic bumpers, bumper assemblies, and exterior trim components.
- Ensure compliance with OEM requirements, styling intent, functional requirements, and manufacturing feasibility.
- Work on Class-A and Class-B surface integration, attachment strategies, and assembly interfaces.
Design Analysis
- Ensure designs comply with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Evaluate tooling feasibility, molding requirements, assembly considerations, and cost optimization opportunities.
Technical Discussions & Presentations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including styling, tooling, manufacturing, quality, and program management.
- Present design concepts, engineering solutions, and project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
CAD Modeling & Drawing Creation
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using UG NX.
- Prepare engineering documentation and release drawings in accordance with customer standards.
What We Look For
Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
- 3 to 7 years of experience in automotive plastic product design and development.
- Mandatory experience in automotive plastic bumper systems, exterior trims, and injection-molded plastic components.
- Experience in automotive interiors, exteriors, air ducts, and plastic trims will be an added advantage.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of automotive plastic product design and development.
- Excellent knowledge of plastic bumpers, fascia systems, grilles, claddings, and exterior trim components.
- Good understanding of injection molding processes and tooling requirements.
- Knowledge of material behavior, mold flow, warpage, shrinkage, and tooling constraints.
- Proficiency in UG NX.
- Familiarity with automotive industry standards and OEM requirements.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
