Job Description
to lead the civil engineering scope of utility-scale renewable energy
projects. This role involves comprehensive design across all project
lifecycle stages, including feasibility studies, DPR, basic engineering,
detailed engineering, and construction support, ensuring all civil
infrastructure is designed for safety, compliance, and optimal
performance, with responsibilities including tendering support, and
contract preparation.
Project Engineering:
Serve as the lead civil and structural engineer for commercial
and utility-scale solar, wind, and hybrid projects.
Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring
adherence to schedules and client specifications.
Design & Layout:
Designing preliminary layouts and final permit packages
based on the client's needs and specifications.
Lead the design, analysis, and detailing of all civil
infrastructure elements required for a power plant, including
site grading plans, internal roads, drainage systems, fencing,
gates, boundary walls, and associated civil works and
foundation designs for all equipments of renewable power
plant (eg., solar carports, roof-top solar arrays, and groundmounted solar arrays (fixed and Tracker), Wind turbine, unit
substation, switchyard, etc)
Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings, architectural
layouts, and sections that integrate civil designs seamlessly
with mechanical and electrical requirements, ensuring
necessary clearances and optimal equipment orientation
Perform Review Engineering functions by critically assessing,
validating, and optimizing third-party civil and structural
designs and documentation, ensuring compliance with local
codes and project standards
Structural Design & Analysis:
Perform detailed geotechnical review (soil investigation
report & soil improvement techniques) and based on the
geotechnical recommendation, design foundation for a wide
array of equipment, including MMS (fixed and tracker
systems), SCBs, Inverter Stations, Transformers, HT Panels,
WMS, and micro-piling for cable tray systems / cable trench,
etc
Utilise advanced structural software (e.g., STAAD Pro, ETABS)
to design all permanent site buildings (Control Rooms,
Security Cabins, MCR/ICR buildings, Station Sheds), ensuring
compliance with relevant Indian and international building
codes
Feasibility & Assessment: Conducting technical feasibility
studies, geotechnical reviews, and site assessments for solar,
wind, and hybrid projects, focusing purely on civil and structural
viability and prepare technical reports
Documentation:
Prepare design calculations, detailed foundation drawings,
and all necessary documentation for both statutory
approvals and construction execution
Preparing and evaluating technical specifications, Bill of
Quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and bid packages for
EPC contractors, OEMs, and service providers related to civil
works.
Preparing and delivering technical reports, proposals, and
presentations for clients and stakeholders
Tendering & Contracts: Providing technical support during
tendering processes (pre-bid & post-bid clarifications, bid
evaluation, techno-commercial comparisons of civil bids).
Supporting contract preparation including drafting of technical
schedules, performance guarantees for civil works, warranty
clauses, and scope of work definitions
Coordination: Coordinating with utilities, project design teams
(mechanical/electrical), permitting authorities, and construction
execution teams to integrate civil designs seamlessly
Vendor Management: Communicating and managing vendors
and subcontractors involved in civil construction and materials
supply
Project Execution Support: Participating in project execution,
site inspections, quality control, and performance verification of
constructed civil and structural elements
Optimization: Improving existing civil and structural designs to
enhance performance and efficiency, ensuring projects meet high
standards for safety, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
