Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design Engineer with 510 years of hands-on experience in Automotive, off highway vehicle, Industrial equipment, and HVAC, with a focus on new product development (NPD). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Mechanical Design & Development design, expertise in resolving issues raised by customer, and a strong background in HVAC mechanism development. This role is ideal for an engineer passionate about delivering high-performance HVAC systems from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Design & Development
- Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for products, components, and assemblies.
- Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and BOMs.
- Ensure designs meet functional, manufacturability, and reliability requirements.
- Engineering Analysis & Validation
- Perform FEA (as needed) or collaborate with analysis teams to validate designs (added knowledge with low priority)
- Conduct DFMEA, DFM/DFA, and risk assessments.
- Technical Documentation & Standards
- Prepare engineering documents, design reports, and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, ANSI, DIN or customer-specific standards.
- Project Execution in Offshore Model
- Work with onsite/global teams for requirement understanding, design review, and alignment.
- Participate in client calls, technical discussions, and design reviews.
- Provide effort estimation, task planning, and adhere to project schedules.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and supplier teams to support product industrialization.
- Support prototype development and testing.
- Mentoring & Technical Leadership
- Guide junior engineers in design best practices, CAD quality, and engineering methods.
- Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 510 years of experience in mechanical design and product development involving Automotive, off highway vehicle, Industrial equipment and HVAC, systems.
- Solid understanding of Engine / transmission / HVAC
- Proficient in 3D CAD and 2D detailing, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Added experience with simulation and analysis tools such as ANSYS, Romax, MASTA, or equivalent.
- Familiar with HVAC system standards and validation practices.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment.

- Mechanical design expertise with strong fundamentals (mechanisms, materials,
- DFM/DFA, GD&T).
- Proficiency in at least one major CAD tool: Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, or Inventor.
- Strong in 3D modelling, complex assemblies, advanced surfacing, and drawing
- creation.
- Experience with tolerance analysis and engineering calculations.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes: machining, casting, plastics, sheet metal, etc.
- Knowledge of design standards (ASME Y14.5, ISO, customer standards).

- Exposure to automation / macros in CAD (Creo Toolkit, SolidWorks API).
- Knowledge of GD&T consulting, model-based definition (MBD), or PMI.
- Experience in value engineering, cost optimization, and VA/VE projects.
- Understanding of electro-mechanical components or mechatronics.
