Senior Design Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Façade Design Engineer who will take ownership of façade design deliverables and ensure timely, accurate, and practical output for project execution. This role focuses on developing and managing shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOM, and work order releases, ensuring that all design outputs are clear, well-coordinated, and fully aligned with project requirements. You will work closely with the Design Manager, production team, and project team, while also guiding junior designers and reviewing their work to maintain quality and consistency.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Prepare and review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation details for façade systems including curtain wall, glazing, ACP, semi-unitized, and fully unitized systems.
• Ensure timely release of work orders and Bill of Materials (BOM) for production and procurement.
• Review architectural and tender drawings to develop accurate and coordinated design outputs.
• Guide and support junior design engineers and draftsmen in their daily work.
• Review and monitor design outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications.
• Assist the Design Manager in planning, allocation, and tracking of design activities.
• Coordinate with production teams to clarify drawings and resolve technical queries.
• Incorporate consultant and client comments and ensure proper revision control of all drawings.
• Identify design gaps or clashes and resolve them before release to avoid rework during fabrication or installation.
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, revisions, approvals, and project records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or any other Engineering stream
• 8+ years of experience in façade design and detailing.
• Experience in curtain wall, glazing, ACP, unitized systems, and semi-unitized systems.
• Exposure to India or GCC projects is an added advantage.

Skills Required

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or HICAD.
• Strong understanding of façade systems, materials, and detailing.
• Good knowledge of shop drawings and fabrication detailing.
• Ability to review drawings with attention to accuracy and practicality.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to guide team members and manage multiple tasks.
• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on reducing errors and rework.
