Job Description

Experience: 3-8 Years

Location: Bangalore

Must-Have: Engine resource experience like crankshaft, cylinder head, oil pan, gasket, manifold, flywheel, connecting rod, etc. Gone through Off-Highway products

Experienced in development end-to-end, especially in the Engines area

Role And Responsibilities

Here's an overview of an end-to-end process for design engineering focused on forged parts:

  • Customer Requirements: The first step is to gather the customer requirements. This involves understanding the intended application of the forged part, the performance requirements, and any other relevant specifications.
  • Material Selection: Based on the customer's requirements, the next step is to select the appropriate material for the forged part. This involves considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost.
  • Design Concept: Once the material is selected, the next step is to create a design concept for the forged part. This involves creating a 3D model of the part using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Forging Process Selection: Based on the design concept, the next step is to select the appropriate forging process. This involves considering factors such as the size and complexity of the part, the desired material properties, and the cost.
  • Detailed Design: Once the forging process is selected, the next step is to create a detailed design of the forged part. This involves creating detailed drawings and specifications that can be used to manufacture the part.
  • Manufacturing: With the detailed design in hand, the next step is to manufacture the forged part. This involves using the selected forging process to shape the material into the desired form.
  • Testing and Inspection: After the part is manufactured, it is tested and inspected to ensure that it meets the required specifications. This involves using various testing and inspection methods such as non-destructive testing (NDT) and dimensional inspection.
  • Final Assembly: Once the part passes testing and inspection, it is ready for final assembly. This involves integrating the forged part into the larger assembly or system.
  • Quality Control: Throughout the manufacturing and assembly process, quality control measures are used to ensure that the final product meets the required specifications.
  • Maintenance: Finally, the forged part is maintained to ensure that it continues to perform well over time. This involves monitoring the part for wear and tear, performing routine maintenance, and making any necessary repairs or replacements.

Each of these steps requires different skills and expertise, and the process may vary depending on the specific requirements of the project. It's important to have a clear understanding of each step in the process to ensure a successful design engineering project focused on forged parts.
