Job Description

About The Ethnic Co

The Ethnic Co is a premium men's ethnic wear brand built for the modern Indian man. We offer ready-to-wear collections, bespoke custom-fit options, and fully customised couture — all designed and manufactured in our own factory in Bengaluru. As we deepen our offline presence and elevate the customer experience, we're looking for a senior designer who can own the full design-to-sale journey at our HSR experience centre.

What you'll own

P&L ownership at the experience centre

  • Own sales performance at the HSR store — drive conversions, upsell across accessories and add-ons (stoles, footwear, etc.), and ensure the centre consistently hits its revenue targets.

Customer consultation & styling

  • Understand each customer's occasion, body type, and style preferences. Recommend the right looks — sherwanis, kurtas, bandhgalas, Indo-western — with colour combinations, accessorising, and complete outfit coordination. Convert walk-ins and referrals into confirmed orders.

Custom design & production coordination

  • Finalise design customisations — embroidery, detailing, fit modifications — and accurately translate these to the tailoring and production teams. Review garments through the production cycle to ensure alignment with approved design. Support fittings, trials, and post-sale follow-up.

New collection design

  • Lead the creation of new men's ethnic designs for upcoming launches. Bring together market trends, brand identity, and customer feedback to build collections that are both distinctive and commercially relevant.

Multi-store design & ops support

  • Act as the first point of creative and operational support for our 2 other retail stores. Coordinate custom requirements across stores, manage order documentation, and provide in-store coverage when needed.

Factory-cum-centre operations

  • Guide the operations team at our combined factory and experience centre — ensure processes are followed, quality standards are maintained, and the team runs smoothly day-to-day.

Local sourcing & procurement

  • Use your knowledge of the Bengaluru market for ad-hoc fabric, trims, and accessories procurement — knowing where to source quickly and cost-effectively when it matters.
What we're looking for
  • 4–6 years in men's ethnic wear design, premium retail styling, or boutique fashion — with a strong grasp of sherwanis, kurtas, bandhgalas, and Indo-western silhouettes
  • Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or Styling (preferred)
  • Comfortable owning both creative and commercial outcomes — you enjoy selling as much as designing
  • Solid understanding of fabrics, embroidery techniques, garment construction, and finishing
  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets for order tracking and cross-store coordination
  • Strong awareness of the Bengaluru local market — vendors, sourcing hubs, trims suppliers
  • Comfortable advising customers across diverse occasions and budgets
  • Ability to lead a small team, manage multiple stores simultaneously, and own outcomes — not just tasks

Work schedule & leave
  • Working hours - 12:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  • Extended hours during peak seasons
  • Work week - 6 days · Sat & Sun mandatory
  • 1 rotational weekday off
  • Leave structure - 1 weekly off + accrual of 3 leaves/month - Includes public holidays, sick leave, and paid leave. Leaves can be planned and taken anytime with prior intimation.

If you live and breathe men's ethnic fashion and get a kick out of seeing customers walk out looking exactly right — this role was written for you. Apply with your portflio and resume here.
