Senior Design and Drafting Engineer

The Senior Design & Drafting resource is responsible for developing and transforming complex Engine design concepts into high-quality technical drawings and 3D models and also provide technical leadership, ensure adherence to global standards, and optimize the design process for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

1. Complex Modeling: Create high-fidelity 3D models and sophisticated 2D assemblies using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, CREO).

2. Design Optimization: Review designs for DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) to reduce production costs and errors.

3. Tolerance Analysis: Perform advanced GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure parts fit and function correctly under real-world conditions.

4. System Integration: Ensure all components integrate seamlessly within the larger system architecture.

Position Specific Skills

1. Mastery of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing): Beyond basic dimensions, they must understand standards to define allowable variations, ensuring parts function regardless of manufacturing source.

2. FEA & Simulation Basics: Ability to run basic Stress, Strain, or Thermal simulations to validate designs before handing them off to Professional Engineers (PEs).

3. PDM/PLM Administration: Expertise in managing Product Data Management environments (like SolidWorks PDM or PLM) to handle version control, workflows, and data security.

4. BOM Management: Proficiency in generating and managing complex Bill of Materials, ensuring integration with ERP and PLM systems.
