Senior Deployment Lead with strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise

We are looking for a Senior Deployment Lead with strong Google Cloud Platform

(GCP) expertise to lead and govern end to end deployment activities for cloud native and

hybrid workloads. The role will own release execution, environment readiness, cutover

planning, and deployment automation while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance

across GCP environments.

This position requires close collaboration with DevOps, SRE, application, security,

and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless, zero to low downtime releases.

Experience - 8–14 years total experience, with 4–6+ years in GCP based deployments

Key Responsibilities

Deployment & Release Leadership

Lead end to end deployment execution for applications and platforms hosted on GCP

Own release calendars, deployment schedules, and go live readiness

Ensure deployments across Dev, Test, UAT, Staging, and Production are executed safely and consistently

GCP Environment & Cutover Management

Plan and execute cutover, rollback, and post deployment validation strategies

Ensure GCP environment readiness including:

o Project setup

o IAM permissions

o Networking and firewall rules

o Service quotas and dependencies

Support production go lives and hyper care stabilization

DevOps & Automation

Drive CI/CD pipeline integration using:

o Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD

Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and repeatable deployments

Reduce manual deployment efforts through automation and standardization

Cloud & Platform Deployments

Oversee deployments involving:

o GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)

o Compute Engine

o Cloud Run / App Engine

o Managed databases and middleware

Coordinate container, microservices, and API based deployments

Risk, Change & Incident Management

Identify deployment risks and define mitigation and rollback strategies

Act as primary escalation point for deployment and release failures

Ensure adherence to change management, audit, and compliance processes

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

Lead and mentor deployment engineers and release teams

Coordinate across application, DevOps, SRE, security, networking, and business

teams

Provide clear communication on deployment status, risks, and outcomes to

senior stakeholders

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

Develop and maintain:

o Deployment runbooks

o SOPs

o Go live and rollback checklists

Conduct post release reviews and drive continuous process improvements

Required Technical Skills

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Strong hands on experience with:

o GCP project and environment management

o IAM, VPC, firewall rules, load balancing, VPC SC ,OIDC/SAML with IdP

o CMEK/KMS , Secret management

Experience deploying workloads on:

o GKE

o Compute Engine

o Cloud Run / App Engine

o Cloud Functions

CI/CD & Automation

Expertise with one or more CI/CD tools:

o Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab

Experience with artifact repositories and version control (Git)

Infrastructure as Code

Hands on experience with:

o Terraform (preferred)

o Deployment Manager

Strong understanding of immutable and repeatable deployment patterns

OS, Scripting & Containers

Linux and/or Windows deployment experience

Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or PowerShell

Strong understanding of:

o Docker

o Kubernetes deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, rolling)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

GCP certifications (Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, Architect – preferred)

Experience in enterprise cloud migrations or platform modernization

programs

Exposure to regulated or largescale production environments
