Senior Database Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Database Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
• Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
• Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
• Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
• Design and certify next generation database technologies
• Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
• Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
• Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

• Hands-on expertise in Exadata systems
• Experience in High Availability solutions (RAC, Data Guard)

• Exadata Machine administration - IB/Roce Switch Maintenance, Storage /Compute Nodes administration, Grid Infrastructure Administration .
• Exadata Maintenance : Hardware Replacements, Storage/Compute nodes Patching/upgrades, Performance analysis & enhancements
• Validate recovery readiness and disaster recovery capabilities
• Shell/Python scripting
• Automation /Orchestration capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in high-demand environments
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures
• Improve system resilience and eliminate single points of failure
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents

Job Expectations:

• 16X7 Production Support.
• Expected availability on Saturday/Sunday - While compensatory/Week off could be non- saturday/sunday .
