Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to design and architect high-performance database environments on GCP Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL). The role focuses on building scalable, future-ready systems aligned with horizontal scaling strategies (Spanner readiness) while ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Database Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with GCP Cloud SQL
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and high-scale data environments
- Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design
Key Responsibilities
- Design scalable, Spanner-ready database schemas (UUIDs, non-sequential indexing)
- Optimize systems for high write throughput and performance
- Leverage GCP Memorystore for caching and load optimization
- Monitor and enhance query performance while ensuring data integrity
- Collaborate with teams and drive best practices in database engineering
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience with Java-based application environments
- Exposure to WebMethods or enterprise integration platforms
- Knowledge of future-ready architectures (Spanner or similar distributed databases)
