Job Summary:

The Database SME - OSSDB & NoSQL is responsible for providing deep technical expertise across open-source and NoSQL database platforms throughout the migration lifecycle. This role focuses on assessments, readiness activities, execution support, validation, troubleshooting, and ensuring successful transition of database workloads. The SME collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and customer teams to drive smooth migration delivery and maintain high quality and reliability.

Required Qualification:

B.E., B.Tech, MCA in Computer Science or Information Security

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Perform detailed analysis of existing OSSDB/NoSQL environments, including configurations, extensions, schemas, data sizes, and workload characteristics.

- Identify compatibility considerations, sequencing requirements, data dependencies, and application integrations.

- Provide input for migration planning, timelines, and preparation activities.

- Support engineers during data movement cycles, ongoing sync methods, cutover activities, and validation checks.

- Troubleshoot database issues related to performance, connectivity, replication, access, or configuration.

- Assist with dry runs, data integrity checks, and post-migration validation.

- Conduct performance diagnostics across queries, indexes, cache settings, and database parameters.

- Recommend optimizations to ensure stable operations and efficient performance post-migration.

- Contribute to reusable scripts, templates, and validation steps that streamline database operations.

- Work with DevOps teams to support automation workflows involving Terraform, ARM/Bicep, GitHub, or ADO.

- Work closely with Database Architects, Squad Leads, Application SMEs, and Data teams throughout the migration.

- Provide technical inputs and clarify database-specific requirements, constraints, and best practices.

- Mentor engineers on OSSDB/NoSQL operational nuances and troubleshooting techniques.

- Ensure recommended configurations follow standards for access control, encryption, monitoring, and resilience.

- Support teams in validating compliance-related checks and operational readiness.
