We are seeking a
hands-on Senior Data Scientist with deep expertise in
traditional Machine Learning, retail analytics, pricing optimization, and demand forecasting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in
Retail, CPG, or E-Commerce environments and will play a key role in designing and scaling ML-driven pricing and promotion solutions.
Roles & Responsibilities
Machine Learning & Forecasting
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable machine learning solutions focused on:
- Pricing optimization, Demand forecasting, Promotion planning
- Build and enhance statistical and ML models for:
- Price elasticity modeling, Promotion optimization, Inventory forecasting, Revenue forecasting
ML Engineering & Deployment
- Design, build, and deploy robust ML pipelines in Databricks.
- Develop model monitoring systems and production-ready APIs.
- Build scalable ML services and support production deployments.
Advanced Time-Series Modeling
- Design and evaluate transformer-based time-series forecasting models for large-scale retail sales forecasting and demand planning.
- Drive experimentation, model evaluation, and continuous model improvements.
Data Analysis & Business Insights
- Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured retail datasets to identify:
- Customer behavior patterns, Pricing insights, Market trends
- Develop data-driven strategies to maximize:
- Revenue, Profitability
- Pricing efficiency across products and categories
- Apply advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to solve complex retail business problems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Engineering, and Business teams to translate business requirements into scalable ML solutions.
- Communicate analytical findings and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior data scientists and provide technical leadership across teams.
Required Qualification
Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
- Computer Science or Data Science or Statistics or Mathematics or Engineering or a related field
Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Machine Learning and Data Science.
- 5+ years of domain experience in Retail, CPG, or E-Commerce.
Core Mathematical & Statistical Skills
- Strong understanding of:
- Mathematics, Probability, Statistics
- Regression analysis
- Traditional machine learning algorithms
- Statistical modeling techniques
Technical Skills
Programming & Machine Learning
- Strong expertise in Python, including:
- Pandas, NumPy, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Scikit-learn, TensorFlow (or similar ML frameworks)
Big Data & Data Processing
- Experience with PySpark and large-scale data processing systems.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in:
- Relational databases
- Data warehouses
API Development
- Experience building ML services and APIs using:
- Flask or similar frameworks
MLOps & Deployment Platforms
- Databricks
- Google Vertex AI
- Amazon SageMaker
- Azure Machine Learning
Generative AI
- Exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs)
ML Operations
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows
- Model deployment and monitoring
- Production-grade ML pipelines
