About the role :

We are looking for a passionate and innovative Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Sciences Team. Fueled by one of the largest data sets of its kind in the region, this team at Delivery Hero is working on some of the most challenging and fascinating technology problems available right now in the restaurant industry. From personalizing the dining experience for restaurant diners by analyzing their past behaviors & interactions, to helping restaurants increase their footfall by targeting the right customer at the right time– we are using big data to help change the way millions of people will dine at the restaurants.

Note: This position requires the candidate to be based in India, with the flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop ML-driven personalization solutions for dining experiences, ordering journeys and customer targeting.
• Research, design and deploy scalable machine learning models using large-scale structured and unstructured data
• Partner with internal engineering and product teams to conceptualize, plan and execute the roadmap
• Communicate complex results in a clear, concise and actionable manner
• Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to setting best practices for the team
• Evaluate and prototype emerging AI technologies applicable to the restaurant industry.

Experience Required:

• Degree in Statistics,Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or any similar discipline
• 6-9 years of relevant working experience
• Proficient in RDBMS such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Expertise in Python, especially data science and data wrangling libraries such as numpy, pandas etc
• Strong analytical, data interpretation and problem solving skills
• Good grasp of basic statistical concepts and ML algorithms
• Basic knowledge of AI/ML model deployment lifecycle
• Strong understanding of the practical applications of machine-learning approaches around supervised and unsupervised learning tasks.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Spark, MPP Databases
• Self-motivated, independent learner and willing to share knowledge with team members
• Detail-oriented and efficient time manager in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment

Good to have:

• Experience in personalization and customer propensity modelling
• Testing and deployment of APIs for large scale production systems
• Experience in building ML models at scale, using big data pipelines on platforms such as Spark
• Understanding of deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow/PyTorch
• Experience with GCP/BigQuery
