Technical depth: Candidates showed foundational knowledge but lacked the depth and rigor expected for a leadlevel role, with discussions remaining highlevel across modeling, feature selection, and problemsolving.

Communication & articulation: Technical explanations were often unclear or loosely structured, making it difficult to assess reasoning and decisionmaking.

Leadership readiness: Responses reflected a largely individualcontributor mindset, with limited evidence of team leadership, mentoring, or strategic role ownership.

What we need:

• Strong experience in multivariate modelling and sales forecasting and classic ML
• Excellent understanding of regression techniques (Fixed Effects Model, Multiple Regression etc)
• Experience in driver analysis of key KPIs, such as YoY sales decomposition to identify key drivers contributing to changes in performance.
• Hands-on experience with tree-based models.
• Strong knowledge of model explain ability techniques, especially SHAP.
• Conceptually strong candidate who can guide the team toward success.
• Ability to code and implement solutions independently (hands-on practitioner).
• Strong ability to translate data into clear business insights and stories.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings effectively to stakeholders.
