Albertsons Companies is seeking a talented Senior Data Scientist to develop and deploy predictive models and optimization solutions that enable precise store level labor planning and scheduling. This role is ideal for an experienced data scientist who enjoys hands on modeling, working closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to solve real world problems at scale. You will focus on building high quality forecasting, optimization, and AI components while growing toward broader technical leadership.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy time series forecasting models for labor demand at multiple granularities.
• Build and enhance optimization models to support workforce allocation, shift planning, and schedule recommendations.
• Implement features within AI driven decision workflows, contributing to agent based or rule augmented systems.
• Assist in developing LLM enabled AI agents, such as contextual explanations and scenario exploration.
• Write production ready code and collaborate with Engineering to deploy models on GCP, Azure and Databricks.
• Perform rigorous model validation, monitoring, and performance analysis.
• Partner with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Contribute to documentation, best practices, and shared modeling assets.
• Support and mentor junior data scientists and analysts on modeling and experimentation techniques.

Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field.
• 7–9 years of experience building and deploying predictive models in a production environment.
• Solid experience with time series forecasting, regression, and machine learning techniques.
• Working knowledge of optimization methods (linear, integer, or heuristic based).
• Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, and RAG concepts, with interest in applied AI systems.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience working with cloud data platforms, preferably GCP, Azure and/or Databricks.
• Ability to communicate analytical results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
