Job Title: Senior Data Ops Engineer

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled technical resource to take ownership of our data ingestion operations. You will be responsible for the stability, scalability, and automation of our data pipelines running on Azure. The ideal candidate is an expert in Kubernetes (AKS) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) with specific operational experience managing Fivetran data connectors and configuring Git Runners for CI/CD automation.
Key Responsibilities
Ingestion Pipeline Operations:
Oversee and maintain Fivetran data connectors to ensure reliable data ingestion from various sources.
Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot failures, and resolve latency issues in real-time.
Manage schema drift and ensure data integrity during the ingestion process.
Kubernetes (AKS) Management:
Manage, monitor, and scale Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters supporting the data infrastructure.
Troubleshoot pod failures, resource contention, and networking issues within the cluster.
Implement security best practices and manage upgrades for AKS environments.
Infrastructure As Code (IaC) & Automation:
Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
Write and maintain Terraform modules to support the data platform (storage accounts, networking, compute).
Design and maintain CI/CD workflows, specifically configuring and managing Git Runners (Self-hosted or Cloud) to automate deployments and operational tasks.
Reliability & Optimization:
Ensure high availability of the data platform.
Optimize costs related to Fivetran usage and Azure infrastructure.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Kubernetes (AKS): Deep operational experience with Azure Kubernetes Service. You should be comfortable with kubectl, Helm charts, ingress controllers, and troubleshooting complex cluster issues.
Fivetran: Proven experience managing Fivetran for enterprise data ingestion. Familiarity with the Fivetran API and Terraform provider for Fivetran is a huge plus.
Terraform: Strong proficiency in writing, planning, and applying Terraform code. Experience with state management and modular architecture.
CI/CD & Git Runners: Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Git Runners (GitHub Actions or GitLab CI). Ability to debug pipeline execution environments and containerized build agents.
Azure Cloud: Solid understanding of the Azure ecosystem (VNet, IAM/Entra ID, Azure Monitor, Blob Storage).
Scripting: Proficiency in Bash or Python for automation tasks.
Nice to Have
Experience with DBT (data build tool) for transformation.
Knowledge of Databricks or Snowflake (depending on the destination warehouse).
Experience with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
