Position Summary
MetLife established a Global capability center (MGCC) in India to scale and mature Data & Analytics, technology and operations capabilities in a cost-effective manner and make MetLife future ready. The center is integral to Global Technology and Operations with a focus to protect & build MetLife IP, promote reusability and drive experimentation and innovation. The Data & Analytics team in India mirrors the Global D&A team with an objective to drive business value through trusted data, scaled capabilities, and actionable insights. The operating models consists of business aligned data officers- US, Japan and LatAm & Corporate functions enabled by enterprise COEs- data engineering, data governance and data science
Role Value Proposition:
Data Modeler plays a critical role in data and analytics life cycle and significantly contributes to production grade data and analytics solutions. This role requires one to demonstrate expertise in conceptual, logical and physical data modeling and translate business requirements to data. Besides contributing in individual capacity to solve wide ranging business problems, this role also leads and develops Data and Analytics talent
Job Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into scalable data model designs.
- Design and maintain logical, physical data models to support business and analytics needs.
- Ensure data model consistency, integrity and adherence to best practices
- Develop and optimize dimensional data models for performance, scalability and deployment in on-prem and cloud (Azure Synapse, Databricks) for analytical processing
- Perform data profiling and validation to ensure models accuracy & completeness
- Build and maintain data dictionaries, metadata
repositories and ER diagrams.
- Independently lead design, solutioning & estimations
- Provide people leadership: coach, develop and engage talent
- Collaborate with multiple partners from Business, Technology, Operations and D&A capabilities (Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Data science, DevOps, BI & insights)
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or equivalent educational qualification
Technical Skills And Experience
- 10-12+ years of relevant experience
- Data modeling tools such as ERwin
- SQL/NOSQL for schema design , validation and optimization
- Dimensional modeling (3NF,star schema, snowflake)
- Relational databases (SQL, Oracle) Cloud platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Cosmos DB)
- Designing models for ETL and analytics workflows
- API Design and Ingestion (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
- Normalization, denormalization principlesand performance tuning techniques
- Domain based Modeling
- Communication skills, analytical skills, structured problem-solving skills.,
- Storytelling, Partner, Stakeholder engagement experience
- Provide people leadership: coach, develop and engage talent.
Good To Have (Preferred)
- Exposure to Gen AI technology and tools
- Banking Financial Services and Insurance domain knowledge
