Senior Data Governance & Data Quality Lead – Informatica IDMC
Experience: 7–10 Years
Location: Pune, Gurgaon, Chennai
Shift: US night shift (up to 3-4am IST)
We are seeking a senior Data Governance & Data Quality professional with strong expertise in Informatica IDMC/CDGC to drive enterprise-wide data governance maturity.
This role goes beyond execution and focuses on strategy, framework design, and stakeholder leadership, ensuring high-quality, well-governed data to support regulatory compliance, analytics, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Governance Strategy & Framework
- Define and evolve the enterprise data governance framework, operating model, standards, and policies.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to align governance initiatives with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Drive data ownership, stewardship models, and accountability structures across domains.
- Establish governance KPIs, adoption metrics, and maturity roadmaps.
2. Metadata, Catalog & Lineage Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise metadata management and data catalog strategy using IDMC/CDGC.
- Oversee ingestion of metadata from systems including Snowflake, SQL databases, ETL tools (PowerCenter, Matillion), and BI platforms (Power BI, SSRS).
- Establish and govern business glossary, data classification, policies, and standards.
- Ensure end-to-end data lineage across critical data flows and regulatory reporting systems.
3. Enterprise Data Quality Leadership
- Define data quality strategy, framework, and control mechanisms for critical data elements.
- Oversee large-scale implementation of Data profiling, DQ rule frameworks, Thresholds, validations, and monitoring.
- Drive data quality scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting.
- Lead root cause analysis initiatives and orchestrate cross-functional remediation programs.
- Ensure sustained improvement in data quality KPIs for regulatory and business-critical datasets.
4. Platform Governance & Optimization (IDMC/CDGC)
- Own and govern Informatica IDMC platform architecture, configuration, and scalability.
- Provide strategic direction on platform enhancements, integrations, and upgrades.
- Establish best practices for Metadata ingestion, Lineage tracking, Data quality workflows
- Ensure platform adoption across business units and monitor utilization metrics.
5. Stakeholder Management & Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, risk, compliance, and business teams.
- Drive cross-functional governance forums and steering committees.
- Mentor junior team members and enable a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Translate governance insights into business outcomes and decision enablement.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality, and Metadata Management
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica IDMC/CDGC
- Strong experience in defining DQ frameworks, governance models, and catalog strategies
- Advanced SQL and data analysis capabilities
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, controls, and enterprise data flows
- Proven experience working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Informatica certifications (CDGC, Data Quality, IDMC)
- Banking/Financial Services experience
- Experience with Snowflake or cloud data ecosystems
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., BCBS, GDPR)
- Experience in PowerCenter → IDMC migration programs
