Hiring: Senior Data Engineering Lead / Principal Data Engineer

Overview
We are looking for a senior, hands-on Data Engineering leader who can operate as a Technical Lead or Principal Data Engineer, depending on experience. This role blends deep technical expertise, data modeling ownership, and end-to-end delivery, focused on building scalable, cloud-native data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Delivery & Architecture
- Lead design and delivery of data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics solutions from requirements to production.
- Translate business requirements into scalable data architectures and technical designs.
- Own data modeling strategy: conceptual, logical, physical models, dimensional models, KPIs, and metrics.
Data Platform & Engineering
- Architect and optimize modern data platforms using Databricks, Snowflake, and cloud-native services.
- Design, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and large-scale transformations.
- Develop high-performance SQL transformations and analytics-ready datasets.
- Build reporting and analytics layers aligned with business objectives.
Quality, Governance & Optimization
- Perform code and design reviews; enforce best practices for data quality, testing, documentation, and governance.
- Troubleshoot complex pipeline failures, performance issues, and data quality challenges.
- Define and implement data governance, security, lineage, and access control standards.
Technical Leadership
- Drive architectural decisions, modeling approaches, and tooling strategy.
- Mentor engineers and uplift data engineering standards.
- Act as a client-facing technical lead (for Technical Lead profiles).
- Provide org-wide technical direction and long-term platform vision (for Principal profiles).
Requirements & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 610+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing / Analytics Engineering.
- Strong experience in data modeling (star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
- Hands-on experience with Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake) and/or Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL skills (performance tuning, validation, troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in Python and/or Scala.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud data architectures.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
