Overview
Client is a healthcare analytics consultancy embedded inside the operational core of mid-market infusion providers and specialty pharmacies. We sell monthly engagement retainers and deliver fractional teams across data engineering, decision analytics, and revenue cycle intelligence. Our clients run tens to hundreds of millions in annual revenue. Our recommendations move it.
We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join the forward-deployed pod on a high-stakes client account. You will sit alongside a Principal Consultant and a Principal Engineer and own the scaled execution layer of the engagement: the measure builds, the data reconciliation work, the dashboard pages that get presented to client executives, and the AI-leveraged throughput that lets the pod ship more in a week than any of us could ship alone.
This is the scaling seat in our delivery model. Multiple of these seats sit inside our larger pods. The margin on every engagement runs through this role. The bar reflects that.
What You Will Own
Measure and transform delivery
Build the SQL transformations, DAX measures, and semantic logic against specs handed to you by the Principal. You write tight, performant, traceable code. You do not need the spec re-explained you read it once and build it.
Data QA and reconciliation
Own the integrity layer of the engagement. Tie out totals against source systems. Reconcile claims data, infusion event logs, and billing extracts to known-good benchmarks. Catch the discrepancies before the client does.
This is non-negotiable: you are the last line of defense before a number lands in front of a CFO.
Dashboard build-out
Execute Power BI dashboard pages end-to-end at the component level: visuals, drill-through, row-level security application, formatting against the SolisRx design standard.
The Principal architects you build, and you build fast.
Source data ingestion support
Wire up new source feeds into the Microsoft Fabric stack alongside the engineer. Profile the data, identify quality issues, document what you found, escalate the structural decisions upward.
AI-leveraged throughput
This is a Claude-first pod. You are expected to be hands-on with Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and agentic workflows in your daily build cycle.
We measure output, not hours at the keyboard, and the analysts who compound their throughput with AI tooling are the analysts who get promoted.
Engagement documentation
Maintain the ticket discipline, the QA logs, and the build documentation that the next person on the engagement will rely on.
We are still building the firm clean execution artifacts matter.
This is roughly:
- 80% technical analytics and BI execution craft
- 10% data QA and reconciliation discipline
- 10% healthcare domain learning
You will not run C-suite discovery sessions. You will not present unfiltered to client executives in your first 12 months.
What you will do is ship more high-quality, defensible analytical work per week than any analyst on the offshore market.
What We Are Looking For
We screen on three dimensions:
- Track record
- Technical fluency
- Operating temperament
All three are required.
Track Record
- 4 to 7 years of progressive experience in BI, analytics, or data consulting, with most of it spent building things rather than managing
- Background at a pharma, RCM, or healthcare analytics firm (ZS, Axtria, Beghou, IQVIA, MathCo, Trinity, Huron, Chartis, L.E.K. Healthcare), Big 4, boutique, or a senior IC role at a healthcare data product company
- Current title in the range of Senior Engineer, Senior Consultant, Lead Analyst, or BI Specialist
- If you are an SDA looking for a step up into a high-velocity environment, we want to talk
- A portfolio of real work you can pressure-test:
- Dashboards you built
- Reconciliation problems you cracked
- Measures you wrote that are still in production
Technical Fluency
Strong SQL
CTEs, window functions, performance-aware query construction, comfort debugging codebases you did not write.
This is the floor.
Hands-on Power BI build skill
You have built dashboards that real executives looked at and acted on.
You know DAX cold:
- Time intelligence
- Context transitions
- Virtual tables
Tableau experience is acceptable, but Power BI is the day-one tool.
Data QA discipline
You have written reconciliation logic that caught material issues before they reached a client.
You treat tying-out as a craft, not a chore.
AI tools fluency
Active, daily, hands-on use of Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or ChatGPT inside your actual workflow.
Bonus if you have shipped work using:
- Agentic frameworks
- Function calling
- Tool use
- RAG
We will ask specifically, and generic answers will not pass.
Bias toward Claude-pilled curiosity.
Conceptual fluency with the modern data stack
Exposure to:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Databricks
- Snowflake
- dbt
You do not need to architect a lakehouse you do need to understand what one is and operate inside it.
Production Python (Plus, not required)
- Data manipulation
- Light scripting
- Ability to read someone else's notebook
Operating Temperament
High-velocity executor
You ship.
You self-impose deadlines and hold them.
You flag slippage before it happens, not after.
Detail-obsessed
The reason you are the QA backbone of the pod is because details actually bother you.
A number that does not tie out keeps you up.
Coachable
You will not start at the senior level.
You will close the gap quickly because you take feedback fast and apply it the same day.
Strong written communication
You write:
- Clean tickets
- Clean QA logs
- Clean Slack updates
You do not require interpretation.
Comfortable in a supporting-IC seat
You are not chasing the executive-facing role this year.
You want to be the best in the world at this work first, and the trajectory will follow.
Strong Pluses
- Healthcare, specialty pharmacy, infusion, or RCM exposure
- Commercial analytics, patient services, claims, prior auth, or benefits investigation experience
- Familiarity with:
- HL7
- FHIR
- X12 837/835
- NCPDP formats
- Prior tenure inside a high-bar offshore delivery environment:
- Top-tier consulting India/Philippines arms
- GCCs of frontier tech companies
- YC-backed startups with offshore engineering hubs
What This Is Not
This is not a back-office developer role
You will be in client data within your first week.
This is not a 9-to-5
We run on US Eastern hours.
Roughly 5:30 PM to 1:30 AM IST overlap is required and non-negotiable.
We protect against burnout we do not protect against effort.
This is not a dashboard factory
You will not be handed tickets to grind through in isolation.
You will be inside the conversation, just not the one with the CFO yet.
This is not the client-facing principal seat
If you want to be running discovery with COOs in year one, this is the wrong role and we have a different posting for you.
This is not a domain-agnostic analytics role
You will be steeped in healthcare data within 60 days.
Candidates who cannot get excited about claims, eligibility, and infusion-specific operational data should self-select out.
