Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expert-level SQL skills and hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The role requires a strong background in troubleshooting data discrepancies and job failures, as well as familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and JIRA. Experience in data modeling is essential, and familiarity with Power BI is highly preferred. Experience with APIs for data access and system integration is also required.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows to support business requirements.
Write advanced SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Utilize SSMS and SSIS for database management, ETL development, and data integration tasks.
Integrate and manage data flows using APIs to connect diverse systems and data sources.
Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, job failures, and other data quality issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using the SAFe agile methodology and JIRA for project tracking and issue management.
Develop and maintain logical and physical data models to ensure data integrity and scalability.
Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Leverage Power BI for data visualization and reporting (preferred).
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven expertise in SQL, including complex query writing and performance tuning.
Extensive experience with SSMS and SSIS for database and ETL development.
Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving data discrepancies and job failures.
Experience working with ServiceNow and JIRA data sources.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.
Professional experience integrating and working with APIs for data access and system interoperability.
Experience with cURL tools and JSON data structures and parsing.
Preferred: Experience with Power BI for building reports and dashboards.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
Experience working within the SAFe framework.
