Senior Associate Data Engineering (L2)
Role Summary
As a Senior Associate L2 in Data Engineering, you will design and build large-scale, production-grade data systems using Scala as your primary programming language. You will translate business requirements into high-performance data pipelines and distributed systems, driving technical design independently while ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability across batch and real-time workloads.
Your Impact
Design and build Scala-based batch and streaming data pipelines
Develop high-performance Spark applications using functional programming best practices
Architect scalable ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks
Build real-time analytics, search, and aggregation platforms
Optimize distributed workloads for latency, throughput, and cost
Contribute to data platform design, governance, and reliability
Required Skills & Experience
6+ years overall experience with 4+ years in Big Data engineering
Strong hands-on expertise in Scala (mandatory, primary language)
Deep experience with Apache Spark (Core, SQL, Streaming) using Scala
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modeling, and pipeline design
Hands-on with Kafka / Pulsar / Flink / Hadoop ecosystem components
Experience with NoSQL / MPP platforms such as HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.
Strong fundamentals in performance tuning, memory optimization, and fault-tolerant systems
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Experience with any one cloud platform AWS, Azure, or GCP
Familiarity with cloud-native data services, storage layers, and compute orchestration is a plus, not mandatory
