Job Title: Data Visualization Engineer (Tableau)

About The Role

We're looking for a Senior Data Visualization Engineer to design and build dashboards that people use to make decisions. You'll use Tableau, SQL and Python, and you'll also work as a business analyst: you'll meet stakeholders, figure out what they need, and turn it into clear, reliable reporting. You'll own your work from start to finish with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports covering business KPIs and operational metrics.
• Run requirement-gathering sessions with business users, write up business requirements and functional specifications, and turn them into data and visualization designs.
• Write complex SQL queries, views and stored procedures, and tune them to extract, transform and validate data from multiple sources.
• Use Python (pandas, NumPy, etc.) for data preparation, automation, ad-hoc analysis and data quality checks.
• Build and optimize Tableau data sources, extracts, calculated fields, LOD expressions, parameters and row-level security.
• Publish and manage content on Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud, including scheduling, permissions and performance tuning.
• Partner with data engineering teams on data models, data pipelines and source-system issues.
• Present insights and recommendations to business and leadership audiences.
• Own deliverables from start to finish: estimate the effort, prioritize, deliver on time and keep stakeholders updated.
• Apply best practices in dashboard design, data storytelling and documentation.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 6–8 years of experience in BI, data visualization or analytics, with at least 4 years of hands-on Tableau work (Desktop, Server or Cloud).
• Strong SQL skills on at least one major database or warehouse, such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake or Redshift.
• Working knowledge of Python for data manipulation and automation.
• Proven experience as a business analyst: gathering requirements, mapping processes, writing BRDs/FRDs and managing stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of data modeling concepts such as star schema, dimensions and facts.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain data to non-technical users.
• Able to work independently, take ownership and handle ambiguity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field.
  
  

Good to Have

• Tableau certification (Desktop Specialist, Certified Data Analyst or Server Certified Associate).
• Exposure to other BI tools such as Power BI or Oracle Analytics Cloud.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Domain experience in BFSI, healthcare, retail or manufacturing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery.
