Your new role

As a Senior Data Engineer in our Power BI Development team, you'll architect and deliver cloud-native data platforms that enable smarter, faster decisions across our global supply chain operations. Your work will directly impact our ability to get life-saving medicines to millions of patients worldwide-through forecasting, optimization, automation, and actionable insights.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading end-to-end development of robust data pipelines, models, and integration flows on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Databricks and GitHub)
  • Architecting, optimizing, and automating Databricks workflows-including Jobs, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, cluster policies, and cost governance
  • Building analytics and AI-ready datasets that power forecasting, optimization, automation, and self-service insights across supply chain functions
  • Ensuring data quality, lineage, governance, and security across platforms, including GxP compliance where relevant
  • Collaborating with supply chain, product, and IT teams to deliver production-grade, scalable solutions aligned with enterprise data architecture and platform standards
  • Driving platform stability, contributing to incident reduction, and championing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to standards, patterns, and reusable components that elevate the team's capabilities

In CMC & Product Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.

Within CMC & Product Supply, the Global Supply Chain team ensures seamless operations across Design, Planning, Logistics & Distribution, and International and North America Operations. Your role will be pivotal in digitally transforming how we work - empowering teams with reliable, actionable insights that drive informed decisions and optimize our ability to serve patients globally.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for an experienced data engineer who thrives on solving complex problems and is passionate about building platforms that empower others. You'll bring with you:

  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong SQL, Python, and Spark-based development skills
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks-including notebooks, orchestration, workflows, Delta Lake, and Unity Catalog
  • Proven experience with Azure data stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, GitHub)
  • Deep understanding of data quality, observability, lineage, governance, and security best practices
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills to collaborate across technical and business teams
  • Experience in supply chain systems (planning, logistics, warehousing) is an advantage
  • Exposure to ML workflows, MLOps, Databricks ML, or relevant cloud/Databricks certifications is a plus
