  • Write complex algorithms to get an optimal solution
  • Use distributed computing to validate and process large volumes of data to deliver insights
  • Interface with product and other engineering teams
  • Design & develop data ingestion and processing pipelines, using Spark, Scala, Python, Hive and databases
  • Write complex, maintainable code to develop scalable data processing engines using Spark Scala, Apache Hive, and databases
  • Work on Cloud technologies including PAAS, data warehousing and data lake
  • Evaluate technologies we can leverage, including open-source frameworks, libraries, and tools
  • Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of the cloud based Big Data Solution - conceptualize, design, develop, test and deploy

Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of applicable data engineering experience, including Big Data technologies
  • Strong fundamentals in Git and code management
  • Good experience working in large data sets, with hands-on technology skills to design and build robust big data solutions using Spark framework, Azure services and industry standard frameworks, such as Databricks and other tools & technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in configuration management, monitoring and performance tuning of Spark based platforms
  • Strong fundamentals in distributed computing principles, data mining & data processing methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving, hands-on engineering and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and designing for performance, scalability and availability
  • Orchestration and messaging frameworks: Airflow, Messaging Frameworks, etc.
  • Experience in Azure or any cloud computing
  • Knowledge of and Experience in DevOps is a plus (Docker, GitHub Actions, etc.)
