Job Description: Data Engineering - Power BI Developer / Specialist

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in building

and optimizing Power BI semantic models, creating high-performing reports and

dashboards, and providing DAX and data validation support. The ideal candidate will

have hands-on experience with Power BI Service, AI-driven tools such as Copilot, and

Microsoft Fabric features. Strong communication skills and functional understanding of

business requirements are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models for efficient reporting

and analytics.

Optimize report performance, ensuring scalability, speed, and usability.

Develop, test, and maintain advanced DAX measures and calculated columns.

Troubleshoot and resolve DAX-related issues raised by business users.

Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate

them into functional BI solutions.

Validate data accuracy by writing and executing SQL queries to compare

backend data with Power BI reports.

Manage and deploy reports/dashboards in Power BI Service, including

workspaces, security, and RLS.

Leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) and Fabric features to enhance BI

solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights and drive

informed decision-making.

Provide user support, training, and documentation for delivered reports and

dashboards.

Required Skills

Excellent knowledge of Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service.

Strong experience in semantic modeling, DAX, and performance

optimization.

Good understanding of functional/business requirements and ability to

translate them into BI solutions.

Proficiency in SQL for data validation and backend analysis.

Familiarity with AI-driven tools (Copilot) and Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Strong problem-solving skills with ability to handle complex BI challenges.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Prior experience in resolving user issues related to DAX or report functionality.

Experience with large datasets and performance tuning strategies.

Exposure to data modeling best practices and data governance.

Knowledge of ETL processes and integration with Power BI.
