Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Engineer with 5 7 years of experience managing and optimizing relational and non-relational database systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cloud, including strong proficiency in MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. Familiarity with Cassandra or other NoSQL technologies is a strong plus. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and data teams to ensure database reliability, performance, security, and scalability in both cloud and hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable database solutions across Cloud SQL on GCP.
Administer and optimize MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases.
Ensure database performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Develop and maintain data backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
Collaborate with software engineers and data analysts to design data models and support development activities.
Implement database security best practices and manage access controls.
Participate in data migration, transformation, and synchronization activities.
Create and maintain documentation for data architecture, processes, and procedures.
Leverage automation tools for database deployment and maintenance tasks.

Skills:

5 7 years of experience as a Database Engineer, Database Administrator, or similar role.
Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud SQL.
Strong hands-on experience with MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
Experience with query optimization, performance tuning, and database profiling tools.
Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
Good understanding of data integrity, normalization, and relational modeling.
Familiarity with CI/CD and automation practices related to database deployment.

Good to have:

Experience with Cassandra or other NoSQL databases.
GCP certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Cloud Database Engineer) is a plus.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Exposure to monitoring tools.
