Delta Air Lines is seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Data & Insights Analyst to support the HR Innovation & Employee Experience (HRIX) team and the QuickView platform. This role blends data engineering, analytics, and storytelling to deliver scalable insights that drive system performance, employee performance, and leader effectiveness.
This individual will own the design and delivery of scalable, user-driven dashboards and reporting solutions that translate complex system and workforce data into clear, actionable insights. The role will also partner closely with Product and IT teams to develop system health monitoring, utilization analytics, and performance measurement frameworks, ensuring leaders across the enterprise have real-time visibility into operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Data Modeling, Integration & Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and pipelines that integrate QuickView, HR, and system data sources.
- Aggregate and harmonize data across platforms to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Partner with IT to structure data for performance, scalability, and usability across reporting tools.
Dashboard Development & Data Storytelling
- Develop dynamic, scalable dashboards that serve multiple audiences (enterprise leaders, divisional leaders, frontline leaders, and individual users).
- Translate data into clear narratives that connect:
- System performance → Employee behavior → Leader effectiveness → Business outcomes
- Build intuitive visualizations that enable self-service insights and decision-making.
- Ensure dashboards are flexible, performant, and aligned to evolving business needs.
System Health & Utilization Analytics
- Partner with IT and product teams to build and maintain a system health dashboard, including:
- Job/service run status and reliability
- Data latency and pipeline performance
- System uptime and availability metrics
- Develop reporting on:
- Action-item generation and completion trends
- Backlog volume and aging
- User adoption and engagement metrics
- Feature utilization leveraging tools such as Adobe Analytics
Performance & Operational Reporting
- Deliver recurring and ad-hoc reporting for ACS, RES, TechOps, IFS, and enterprise leadership.
- Analyze trends in system utilization, adoption, compliance, and engagement across business units.
- Build enterprise roll-up views to provide a comprehensive picture of performance and utilization.
- Identify patterns, risks, and opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
Data Quality, Governance & Monitoring
- Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality controls.
- Troubleshoot data issues related to accuracy, latency, or completeness.
- Ensure data governance standards and documentation are maintained.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Enablement
- Partner with Product, IT, HR, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Provide insights and recommendations that influence product enhancements and operational strategies.
- Support user enablement through clear documentation, training materials, and guidance.
- Experience with Figma or similar tools for prototyping data experiences
Design Collaboration Model
- Collaborate with Product and Design to ensure dashboards and reporting solutions are user-centered, intuitive, and aligned to UX standards
- Develop low- to medium-fidelity prototypes (e.g., Figma) to rapidly iterate on dashboard layouts and data experiences
- Use design tools to validate ideas before development, reducing rework and accelerating delivery
- Partner with designers for final UX refinement on high-impact or enterprise-level features
Operational Flexibility & Cross-Training
- Participate in structured cross-training to develop working capability in user support workflows and system functionality
- Provide surge support for user inquiries, ticket triage, or issue resolution during high-volume periods
- Leverage direct user interaction experience to validate reporting outputs and identify data gaps
- Collaborate with User Support to incorporate real user feedback into analytics and reporting
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field
- 4-6 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence
- Strong experience with:
- SQL and data modeling
- Dashboard tools (e.g., QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI)
- Data visualization and storytelling best practices
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred: S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena)
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate insights into business value
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
