Your role:
This role supports the needs of the Global Procurement Analytics team with a focus on analyzing complex data sets, generating actionable insights, and implementing strategies to help drive informed Category Strategy decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments in Procurement Analytics to understand their data needs, develop analytics solutions, and present findings clearly and concisely.
Your Responsibilities:
- Analyze large and complex data sets using BI tools and methodologies to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
- Build and manage end-to-end ETL workflows and data models using Power Query, Alteryx, or similar platforms to enable efficient and scalable analytics.
- Support data and system integration initiatives across enterprise platforms such as SAP, GCP, and other cloud-based applications, leveraging APIs, connectors, and direct data connections.
- Design and develop high-quality data models that align with business logic, governance standards, and reporting requirements to drive meaningful business insights.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, and IT teams to understand business challenges, define technical requirements, and deliver effective data transformation and reporting workflows.
- Continuously monitor, troubleshoot, improve, and enhance existing workflows and data solutions to meet changing business priorities and ensure long-term sustainability.
- Interpret data to provide actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making
- Design and implement user-friendly interfaces to facilitate data-driven decision-making across Strategic Sourcing Team
- Establish and maintain data governance standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
- Implement measures for data quality assurance and compliance with Category Strategies
- Work closely with the Data Analytics Leader to understand and maintain focus on the Procurement data need, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, integrating Mkt Intelligence data and deliver actionable insights to Global Category Leaders.
- Maintain an environment open to change and innovation, recognizing improvements in existing tools and anticipating new technologies to deliver world-class reporting/analytics and maximize effectiveness.
- Providing training and mentorship to junior team members
- Collaborate with management to develop and refine BI strategies aligned with organizational objectives
- Assessing, selecting, and implementing BI tools and technologies that best suit the organization's requirements
- Engaging with senior management and key stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives and information needs
- Creating project plans, establishing timelines, and ensuring projects are delivered within scope
- Ability to handle conflicts and manage team dynamics effectively, promoting a cohesive and productive work atmosphere.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- 5-8 Years of proficient experience using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI (or) other similar software for data visualization and reporting
- Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, ECC), including understanding of core Procurement, Finance, and Master Data objects (POs, Invoices, Vendors, Materials, GL, Cost Centers).
- Strong expertise in ETL tools Power Query, Alteryx, Tableau Prep. Etc.
- Strong SQL skills to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from databases (e.g., SQL Server, GCP etc.,)
- Ability to enable Power BI reporting solutions using SAP and Ariba data sources, including managing refresh cycles, performance optimization, and governance standards.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python, R, or others for data manipulation and analysis will be a plus
- Identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance BI effectiveness and efficiency
- Proficiency in data analysis, critical thinking, and the ability to think logically and analytically
- Prior experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Relevant experience and certifications in leadership, project management, or advanced BI tools can further validate expertise
- Being meticulous in data analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability of findings
- Hands-on experience integrating SAP and SAP Ariba data into BI platforms (e.g., Power BI), including data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and validation.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineer, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
- A strong business acumen with strategic thinking and should understand the industry trends would be added advantage
- Proficiency in SAP 4 Hanna and Ariba data structures and tables, with the ability to translate transactional and master data into analytics-ready models for reporting and visualization.
