About the Job:

  • Collections Strategy Development:
  1. Develop and implement strategies to improve collections efficiency and reduce DSO.
  2. Create plans for different collection scenarios based on customer segments (e.g., new customers, high-risk customers, etc.).
  • Deliver on the targets set by management
  • Lead, hire, train, and mentor a team of Collections Specialists.
  • Continuously assess and improve collection processes to ensure efficiency, customer satisfaction, and timely payments.
  1. Implement technology solutions (like automated reminders, CRM systems, etc.) to streamline collections efforts.
  2. Monitor and assess the credit risk of buyers and implement strategies to reduce default rates.
  • Handle escalations and complex customer issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Handle high-risk or complex cases and oversee resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize defaults.
  • Analyze data to measure collections performance, identify trends, and forecast future collection needs.
  • Report on collection performance, write-offs, recovery rates, and other financial metrics to senior management.
  • Oversee the legal recovery process, if necessary, including coordinating with external agencies, legal teams, and courts to recover debts.
  • Manage relationships with third-party debt collection agencies when the need arises.
  • Establish clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Oversee daily cash application processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Finance teams to resolve payment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Support audits and provide documentation as required.

Required Job Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing finance teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities and financial systems (Workday Financials preferred).
  • Experience with process improvement and change management.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
