Job Description

A Senior Credit Analystevaluates the creditworthiness of individuals and institutions, analyzes financial data, and assesses credit risk to make informed lending decisions. Key responsibilities include creating detailed credit reports, monitoring existing portfolios, managing loan applications, and mentoring junior analysts. This role is crucial for mitigating risk and ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Core responsibilities

  • Credit analysis:Evaluate financial statements, credit reports, and other data to determine a borrower's creditworthiness.
  • Risk assessment:Analyze and monitor credit risk of clients, identifying economic and industry trends that could impact repayment ability.
  • Report and recommendation:Prepare detailed credit reports, present findings, and make informed recommendations on loan applications and credit limits.
  • Portfolio management:Monitor and manage the credit exposure of existing borrowers, performing annual reviews and ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Mentorship and support:Coach, train, and review the work of junior analysts.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with loan officers, relationship managers, and other departments to support loan origination and risk mitigation.
  • Client interaction:May communicate directly with clients to gather information or discuss financial details as requested.
