Job Description
Reporting to the company's director, you will be responsible for:
- Work with members of the leadership team to develop and implement legal strategies, which will enable the growth of the business and effectively manage legal risks.
- Counsel business in practical terms on risk mitigation strategies, proposing creative solutions.
- Act as the lead subject matter expert for the legal team on all aspects of product claims and marketing initiatives including:
- Work with key stakeholders to develop and maintain risk aligned business processes/policies and best in class training and guidance materials to ensure that all Lotus claims/marketing materials contain legally defensible claims under all applicable laws, guidelines and regulations; maintain the necessary distinction between drugs and cosmetics; consider all relevant privacy and IP issues and are aligned with contractual arrangements and business strategy.
- Advise on high-risk issues in connection with on-line and off-line marketing campaigns (including use of user generated content and third-party IP), use of influencers, running promotions and competitions,
- Provide leadership to pro-actively coordinate and defend, in accordance with the business strategy, out-going and in-coming competitive challenges in respect of product claims.
- Advising sales team in connection with implementation of agreements, trade terms and contracts
- Advise on matters concerning intellectual property, data privacy, business integrity and other compliance risks for the business.
- Manage ad hoc litigation.
- Provide relevant and up to date internal training to the business as part of the overall compliance framework.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of governance, business processes and corporate policies and guidelines.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to develop consistent, compliant strategies to meet business needs.
- Contribute to the creation, maintenance and control of legal templates, policies, procedures and good legal governance.
Manage relationships and costs spent with preferred external legal providers.
The Successful Applicant
Ideally you are a lawyer with 13+ years of experience in any international FMCG/Pharmaceutical industry. Experience in beauty and personal care is a preference.
