Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Contract Engineer with strong experience in contract administration, contractual correspondence, and pre-tender activities for large infrastructure and highway projects. The candidate will play a key role in tender documentation, bid evaluation support, and post-award contract management in compliance with NHAI / MoRTH standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Tender & Bidding Activities
- Preparation, review, and finalization of tender documents, BOQs, eligibility criteria, and contractual conditions
- Study of RFPs, RFQs, EPC/HAM/DBFOT contracts, and identification of contractual risks
- Preparation of pre-bid queries, clarifications, and addendum analysis
- Support in bid strategy, compliance matrix, and deviation statements
- Coordination with planning, estimation, technical, and finance teams during bid submission
- Contractual Correspondence & Administration
- Drafting, vetting, and issuing contractual letters (claims, notices, replies, clarifications, extensions of time, variations, etc.)
- Interpretation of contract clauses and advising project teams on contractual entitlements and obligations
- Maintaining contract registers, correspondence logs, and document control systems
- Handling employer/authority communications in line with contract provisions
- Support in claims management, dispute avoidance, and arbitration preparation, if required
- Post-Award Support
- Review of LOA, Contract Agreements, and Conditions of Contract
- Assistance in mobilization documentation and contract kick-off formalities
- Coordination with legal consultants and senior management on contractual matters
Eligibility & Experience
- Qualification: B.Tech in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- Experience: 610 years in contract management and pre-tender activities
- Prior experience in NHAI / MoRTH / PSU / large EPC projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of EPC, HAM, item-rate and lump-sum contracts
Key Skills
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Strong understanding of contract law principles and FIDIC/MoRTH conditions
- Ability to independently handle contractual correspondence
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and document management systems
- Attention to detail and strong analytical ability
Salary Range: Rs. 75,000- Rs. 1,25,000
