Senior Content Writer
A sixty-person ed-tech company selling into schools and colleges
Why this seat exists
This ed-tech company has grown by word of mouth among school administrators for several years, and is now investing in its first senior content hire to give that growth a real editorial backbone. It has partnered with Flexiple, a managed marketplace that helps companies like this one build out capable teams in India, to bring in someone who can own the content function rather than simply produce for it.
What the role covers
You would take ownership of the pieces that carry the most weight — product explainers for school administrators, thought-leadership around how schools are adopting technology, and the occasional long-form piece aimed at education-policy readers. You would also set the editorial bar for two junior writers currently producing blog and social content, reviewing their drafts and coaching them toward a more consistent voice.
Where you'd spend your time
- Writing and editing flagship content: product explainers, case studies, long-form pieces
- Setting style, tone and structure guidelines the rest of the team writes to
- Reviewing and improving other writers drafts before they go out
- Working with the founders and product team on messaging for major releases
- Using readership and engagement data to decide what to write next
What you'd bring
- 5 to 9 years in content writing, editorial or communications roles
- A portfolio that shows range — explainer content, opinion pieces, longer reported work
- Strong editing judgement and the patience to mentor less experienced writers
- Clear written and spoken English
Nice to have
- Experience writing for an education, learning or schools-facing audience
- Comfort with SEO fundamentals and a content management system
- Some prior experience reviewing or managing other writers work
Practicalities
