Senior Consultant - SAP-SAP ABAP

Job Description

Bristlecone India Limited is seeking a seasoned Senior Consultant for its S4 HANA Technical – Delivery team. The role involves end‑to‑end ABAP development, implementing enhancements, integrating SAP modules, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring optimal system performance. You will collaborate closely with functional consultants and mentor junior developers while contributing to the company's S/4HANA transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test ABAP objects (reports, interfaces, BAPIs, enhancements, forms) in line with business requirements.
• Implement functional and technical enhancements across SAP modules.
• Integrate SAP solutions using IDocs, ALE, BAPI, and OData services.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks in ABAP code.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices for quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Support S/4HANA migration activities, including custom code adaptation and testing.
• Perform performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs and database accesses.
• Document technical designs, configurations, and deployment procedures.
• Mentor and guide junior ABAP developers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong expertise in ABAP OO, classic ABAP, and SAP NetWeaver architecture.
• Proven experience with S/4HANA technical landscape and migration projects.
• Hands‑on experience with BAPI, IDoc, ALE, and OData integrations.
• Demonstrated ability in performance tuning and debugging complex ABAP code.
• Familiarity with SAP enhancement techniques (user‑exits, BADIs, BTEs).
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• SAP certification (e.g., ABAP Development) is a plus.
