Senior Consultant - SAP

Job Description

Bristlecone India Limited is seeking a seasoned Senior Consultant in SAP ABAP to join our S4 HANA Technical – Delivery team. The role involves leading end‑to‑end ABAP development, optimizing performance, and ensuring seamless integration across SAP modules and external systems while collaborating closely with functional consultants and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ABAP objects (reports, interfaces, BAPIs, enhancements) in an S/4HANA environment.
• Perform code reviews and enforce SAP coding standards.
• Integrate SAP modules with external systems using IDocs, RFC, OData, and web services.
• Debug and resolve complex performance issues, applying optimization techniques.
• Lead technical design workshops and mentor junior developers.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions in partnership with functional teams.
• Conduct unit testing, support integration testing, and assist during UAT.
• Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and release notes.
• Participate in migration and upgrade activities to S/4HANA.
• Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the delivery team.
  
  

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong expertise in ABAP OO, BAPI, BADI, User‑Exits, and Enhancement Framework.
• Experience with S/4HANA migration, CDS views, and AMDP.
• Proficiency in integration technologies (IDoc, ALE, RFC, OData, SOAP/REST).
• Deep understanding of performance tuning (SQL trace, runtime analysis, buffering).
• Ability to debug complex issues and provide root‑cause analysis.
• Familiarity with SAP NetWeaver, SAP Cloud Platform, and basic SAP Fiori concepts.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; SAP certifications a plus.
