About the Role
As the Market Access, Pricing & Policy Practice Lead, you will be the founder and chief architect of a practice designed to guide clients through the high-stakes, rapidly evolving landscape of global healthcare. You will have the autonomy to build a world-class team, forge relationships with key industry stakeholders, and deliver strategic counsel that directly impacts patient access to innovation. Your mission is to create a consulting practice that provides unparalleled foresight and strategy in a world of increasing pricing pressures and policy disruption
Responsibilities:
- Design and execute pharmaceutical market access and pricing analytics projects, including payer landscape assessments, formulary positioning analyses, and access barrier evaluations
- Develop drug pricing strategies by analyzing competitive benchmarks, therapeutic value, willingness-to-pay thresholds, and payer reimbursement dynamics
- Build and maintain pharma-specific pricing models, including gross-to-net (GTN) models, rebate/discount simulations, and revenue forecasting across commercial and government payers
- Support product launch and lifecycle pricing strategy, including price corridor assessment, international reference pricing considerations, and competitive price positioning
- Conduct formulary and reimbursement analyses, evaluating tier placement, step edits, prior authorization requirements, and their impact on product uptake
- Perform contracting and rebate scenario modeling to assess trade-offs between access, pricing, and profitability
- Analyze real-world evidence (RWE) to understand patient journeys, treatment patterns, adherence, and switching behavior from an access and pricing perspective
- Work with pharma datasets (claims, patient-level data, specialty pharmacy data, formulary databases) using SQL, Python, or SAS
- Develop health economic and outcomes insights (e.g., cost-effectiveness inputs, resource utilization) to support value-based pricing and payer negotiations
- Create client-ready deliverables, including strategic recommendations, executive presentations, and technical documentation
- Build interactive dashboards (Tableau/Power BI) to track access metrics, pricing performance, and payer coverage
- Collaborate with global client teams, including market access, HEOR, and commercial strategy stakeholders, to align analytics with product strategy
- Act as a subject matter expert in pharmaceutical pricing and market access, mentoring junior team members and supporting capability building
- Serve as a key client contact, ensuring high-quality delivery and strong stakeholder engagement
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in pharmaceutical consulting, with a focus on HEOR, pricing, or market access
- Strong understanding of the U.S. pharmaceutical ecosystem, including payer types and reimbursement mechanisms
- Hands-on experience with drug pricing and market access levers, including rebates, discounts, formulary negotiations, and contracting
- Familiarity with product launch strategy, lifecycle management, and competitive intelligence in pharma
- Proficiency in data analytics tools: Excel (advanced modeling), SQL, Python, and/or SAS
- Experience working with real-world data sources such as claims data, formulary databases, and patient-level datasets
- Strong ability to translate clinical and economic evidence into pricing and access insights
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to pharma clients or stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced consulting environment
