Senior Consultant - Japanese Speaker

The Senior Consultant - Japanese Speaker role focuses on banking and financial services technology transformation, supporting leading financial institutions across Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region with their digital transformation initiatives. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, the position delivers innovative solutions that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and business growth. The role collaborates with multinational teams and uses Japanese language capabilities to support Japanese-speaking stakeholders at financial institutions expanding across the region. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support technology transformation initiatives for banking and financial services clients

• Engage with business stakeholders to analyse requirements and develop strategic technology solutions

• Manage project deliverables, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications throughout project lifecycles

• Facilitate workshops, business process assessments, and solution design sessions with client teams

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement digital, data, and operational transformation programmes

• Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and client relationship management

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior consultants while contributing to team capability development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related discipline

• At least 5 years of experience in consulting, business analysis, project management, or technology transformation within the banking and financial services industry

• Strong understanding of banking operations, financial products, regulatory environments, and technology transformation initiatives

• Experience managing stakeholders across business and technology functions

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills

• Professional proficiency in Japanese and English, as the role requires effective communication with internal and external stakeholders in both languages

• Willingness to travel when required for client engagements

• Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in digital transformation, core banking systems, payments, risk management, or data analytics initiatives

• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other project delivery methodologies

• Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, CBAP, Scrum Master, AWS, or an equivalent qualification

• Experience working with Japanese-speaking stakeholders at financial institutions or within multinational banking organisations

• Previous consulting experience with a major consulting firm or systems integrator
