Design and develop RESTful APIs based on FHIR resources (Patient, Observation, Encounter, etc.)
Build interoperability layers between EMRs, labs, insurers, and third-party healthcare apps
Map legacy healthcare data formats (HL7 v2, CDA) to FHIR resources
Implement and manage FHIR servers (e.g., HAPI FHIR or Microsoft FHIR Server)
Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations (HIPAA, etc.)
Work with clinical and product teams to translate workflows into interoperable data models
Develop and maintain documentation for APIs and integration workflows Optimize performance, scalability, and security of data exchange systems Required Skills
Strong experience in backend development (Python)
Hands-on experience with FHIR resources, profiles, and extensions
Understanding of healthcare data standards: o HL7 v2 o CDA
Experience building RESTful APIs and working with JSON/XML
Knowledge of authentication standards (OAuth2, OpenID Connect)
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Database experience (SQL/NoSQL) Good to Have
Experience with SMART on FHIR apps
Knowledge of terminology standards (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD)
Exposure to integration engines like Mirth Connect or Apache Camel
