About NSRCEL

The NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) is IIM Bangalore's startup hub and incubation centre. The centre is structured as a section-8 not-for-profit entity. Our mission is to support ventures in the start-up ecosystem that demonstrate potential to create significant economic and societal impact. This financial year alone NSRCEL has engaged with 1106 ventures through 13 unique program tracks across 82 towns in the country.

NSRCEL is supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY). NSRCEL has partners with corporates like Alstom, Capgemini, Goldman Sachs, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Pernod Ricard India Foundation and SBI Foundation, among others to support idea stage and early-revenue stage entrepreneurs and startups in focussed themes of climate-tech, women entrepreneurship, and social impact.

About Ecosystem Capacity Building

While there are over 1100 incubators in the country, 90% of (incubated) startups still seek support from the top 20% of incubators (you can read more about this on the India Incubator Kaleidoscope Report, 2024).

Over the next 5 years, the Ecosystem Capacity Building Vertical at NSRCEL aims to work with 40 incubators across the country: we will design and deliver strategy & design services, program team trainings, and access to NSRCEL trademarked products & methodologies based on the institutions specific needs and context.

About this role

We expect each senior consultant to own anywhere between 3-6 client accounts at any given time. Senior consultants will lead stakeholder management, planning, and execution of programs for their clients from initiation to completion. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Managing program budgets, deliverables, and overall accountability for assigned incubation centres.
  • Proactively monitoring the progress of incubation centres, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identifying key challenges in partner incubation centres and provide tailored support and interventions.
  • Facilitating workshops or arrange expert-led sessions through faculty, industry experts, or internal teams.
  • Serving as a liaison between NSRCEL's internal functions and incubation centres, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge exchange.

In addition to their core role, senior consultants will be expected to support with:
  • Client onboarding, needs analysis, and program design
  • Design and delivery of group trainings, bootcamps, as and when necessary
  • Design and management of knowledge resources like incubation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), frameworks for incubation excellence, etc
  • Organisation-wide events and cross-team collaborations
  • Content creation, webinar and events management, and other marketing and ecosystem engagement initiatives
  • Sales initiatives, both inbound and outbound (eg networking, representing NSRCEL at ecosystem events, identifying opportunities for growth)

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree (MBA, MSc. etc.) with 5+ years of experience in incubation, startup ecosystem management, consulting, or program management.
  • Strong project management skills with experience handling multiple stakeholders and driving program outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, and networking skills.
  • Experience in managing deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Familiarity with business development, partnership management, and ecosystem collaborations.

Good to Have:
  • An understanding of incubation models, startup dynamics, and entrepreneurship support mechanisms.
  • Technology Adoption: Be familiar with and use industry leading CRM, HRM, and project management tools to improve individual and team efficiency.
