Job Description

Senior Company Secretary

This is an independent, entrepreneurial role suited for a professional who is looking beyond a conventional CS position and has the ambition and capability to build and eventually lead the practice, develop client relationships, drive business, and grow into a Partner-level role within the firm.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in handling a broad range of Company Law, Secretarial, Compliance, and Regulatory matters.
  • Candidates should be currently working with or have at least 3–4 years of prior experience in law firm. Experience in a professional-services environment will be strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in:
  • Company incorporation and restructuring
  • Corporate and secretarial compliances
  • Companies Act and related regulatory matters
  • ROC/MCA-related filings and compliances
  • Corporate governance and advisory
  • Regulatory registrations, approvals, and compliances, including FSSAI, DSIR, DGCI, and other applicable registrations
  • Need to handle independently managing the complete Company Secretarial, Compliance & Regulatory portfolio, including client discussions, advisory, execution, and team/practice management.
  • A Law qualification (LL.B.) would be preferred and will be an advantage, particularly for contributing to broader Corporate and Commercial Law matters.
  • Strong business development and client acquisition skills are essential. The candidate should be comfortable identifying opportunities, developing client relationships, participating in pitches/proposals, and converting mandates.
  • The candidate should have a clear interest in building and scaling a professional practice, rather than limiting themselves to execution-oriented CS responsibilities.
  • Should be mature, independent, motivated, commercially oriented, and legally competent, with the ability to take ownership and make decisions independently.
  • The ideal candidate should have a positive, entrepreneurial mindset and a clear aspiration to grow with the firm and eventually become a Partner.

Responsibilities

We are specifically looking for someone who can own, lead, and grow the practice independently.

Candidates with less than 5 years of relevant experience, limited exposure to CA/CS/law/consulting firms, or those seeking only an execution-oriented role are requested not to apply.

The ideal candidate will see this as an opportunity to build a practice, develop a client base, generate business, lead a team, and ultimately grow into a Partner within the firm.
