Job Description
Senior CNC Lathe Programmer & Tooling Specialist
About Us
We are a leading precision engineering and manufacturing company committed to quality, innovation, and operational excellence. We specialize in delivering high-quality engineered solutions—specifically in specialized mould tooling and high-volume sintered carbon turning—while building a workplace where talented professionals can learn, grow, and build long-term careers. We are looking for motivated engineering professionals who want to contribute to world-class manufacturing solutions.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior CNC Lathe Programmer & Tooling Specialist to take complete technical ownership of our turning operations. Because we have dedicated setters and operators on the shop floor, your focus will be entirely on high-level programming, precision tooling selection, tool setting, and process optimization. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently take a component from an engineering drawing all the way to production optimization.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, write, and prove out complex CNC lathe programs using Fanuc and Siemens controls, utilizing G-code, canned cycles, macros, and CAM software.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, insert grades, geometries, and holders (including carbide and PCD/diamond tooling for carbon machining).
- Establish tool settings, tool offsets, work coordinates, zero points, and apply tool nose radius compensation (G41/G42) effectively.
- Define appropriate roughing and finishing strategies, feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.
- Optimize machining parameters to dramatically improve cycle time and tool life.
- Prevent shop-floor issues such as edge chipping, chatter, and dimensional variation.
- Prepare detailed setup sheets and tool lists to guide setters and operators.
- Troubleshoot dimensional deviations, tooling issues, and machining problems on the shop floor.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, and machining efficiency.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of highly independent, hands-on experience in CNC Lathe / CNC Turning Center programming and tooling.
- Expertise in Fanuc and Siemens CNC controls, G-code, and canned cycles.
- Exceptional engineering drawing reading skills and ability to calculate machining parameters.
- Strong practical experience in CNC program prove-out, troubleshooting, and cycle-time optimization.
- Desirable: Familiarity with ESPRIT CAM, SolidWorks 3D, AutoCAD 2D, conventional lathe operations, quick-turn fixture development, or machining sintered carbon/graphite with PCD tooling.
Who Can Apply
We welcome technically strong CNC professionals who enjoy precision machining and process improvement. Candidates who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply:
- Professionals with 3+ years of dedicated CNC Lathe Programming experience looking to step up into a technical ownership role.
- Problem-solvers who can seamlessly execute the entire workflow.
- Individuals who want to take ownership beyond routine machine operation and drive the actual engineering of the process.
Benefits
- Highly Competitive Compensation: ₹50,000 – ₹70,000 CTC per month
- Excellent Work-Life Balance: Fixed Day Shift (8:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Professional and Supportive Work Environment
- Hands-on experience with advanced materials and high-precision tooling
- Long-Term Career Development Opportunities
