Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Design and implement FinOps strategies for multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Analyze usage patterns and provide cost optimization recommendations for all cloud platforms.
- Leverage tools like IBM Turbonomic and Cloudability to monitor and optimize cloud expenditures.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track spending, forecast budgets, and drive financial accountability.
- Collaborate with development teams utilizing CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Implement tagging, resource allocation, and governance best practices across cloud platforms.
- Conduct periodic audits of cloud resources to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Stay up-to-date on pricing models, new services, and best practices for AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Provides mentoring, coaching and training to more junior members of the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
-Proven experience in FinOps or a similar cloud financial optimization role.
- FinOps Practitioner or Focus Certified would be advantageous.
- Experience working within a FinOps framework is highly desirable.
- Expertise in managing cloud costs for GCP, AWS and Azure environments.
- Hands-on experience with tools like IBM Turbonomic and Cloudability.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, and DevOps workflows.
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles and practices.
- Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Certification in one or more cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Terraform) for managing cloud resources.
- Knowledge of cloud governance frameworks and ITIL processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
