Job Title Senior Cloud Engineer (GDW & Omnia)

Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Google Data Warehouse (GDW) and Omnia platforms to join our cloud infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable cloud solutions, with a focus on data warehousing, automation, and cloud-native architectures. This role requires a blend of strong cloud engineering, data pipeline, and platform automation skills to drive efficiency and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure leveraging AWS, Lambda, ECS, EKS, Elastic Beanstalk services, and Google Data Warehouse (Big-Query or related GDW services).
Design and implement data pipelines and workflows integrating Omnia platform capabilities for automation and data management.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to optimize cloud data solutions for performance, cost, and security.
Lead cloud migration and modernization projects to transition legacy data workloads into GDW and Omnia environments.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
Implement security best practices and compliance standards within cloud and data warehouse environments.
Mentor and guide junior engineers on cloud technologies, best practices, and platform usage.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, trends, and industry best practices to recommend improvements.
Good knowledge of designing a Resilient system for Availability and Scalability.
Must Have Skills:
Strong expertise in Google Data Warehouse services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Omnia platform (automation, data management, or relevant modules).
Proficiency in cloud automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS Deployment Manager).
Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, GKE) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong scripting and programming skills (Python, Bash, SQL).
Solid understanding of cloud security principles and identity/access management.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Good knowledge of designing Resilient systems for Availability and Scalability.
Knowledge of Managed Kafka, Vector DB, any RDBMS with ANSI SQL, Lambda function as a service, AWS Glue Pipeline, Lake Formation, Glue Catalogue
Good to Have Skills:
Knowledge of Kubernetes and GKE beyond basics, including cluster autoscaling and network policies
Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Google Cloud Composer
Experience automating cloud security with tools like Forseti, Cloud Custodian, or OPA (Open Policy Agent)
Experience designing and implementing microservices architecture
Exposure to event-driven architecture and real-time data streaming with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or Kinesis
Agile/Scrum methodologies experience and ability to lead sprint planning and retrospectives
Experience in driving cloud adoption strategies and change management within organizations
