Profile: Vice President Civil / Head of Projects (Civil)
Experience- 18+ years
CTC- Upto 30 LPA
Location: Chennai
Working days-6 days (9:30am-6pm/ 10 am -6:30 pm)
Key Job Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution (End-to-End Ownership)
- Overall responsibility for planning, execution, monitoring, and timely
completion of residential apartments, commercial buildings, and plotting projects.
- Lead projects from concept, design coordination, approvals, construction, testing,
commissioning, and final handover.
- Prepare and monitor master construction schedules, milestones, and resource
deployment.
- Ensure on-time delivery with adherence to quality, safety, and budget.
2. Design & Technical Management
- Review and finalize architectural, structural, MEP, and infrastructure designs.
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, structural engineers, MEP designers, and
landscape designers.
- Value engineering to optimize cost without compromising quality or compliance.
- Resolve complex technical issues during execution.
3. Commercial & Contract Management
- Finalize BOQs, tenders, contracts, and work orders.
- Negotiate and manage contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Monitor cost control, billing, certifications, variations, and claims.
- Ensure projects are executed within approved budgets.
4. Quality Assurance & Control
- Establish and enforce quality standards, SOPs, and QA/QC processes.
- Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, local authority norms, and client
specifications.
- Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
- Ensure high-quality finishes for premium residential and commercial
developments.
5. Statutory Approvals & Compliance (India Focus)
- Handle approvals and compliance with local authorities, including:
- CMDA / DTCP / Local Municipal Bodies
- Fire, Airport Authority, Pollution Control Board
- RERA, Environmental Clearance, Utility Approvals
- Ensure all projects comply with statutory, legal, and safety regulations.
6. Plotting & Infrastructure Development
- Strong knowledge of land development and plotting projects including:
- Layout planning and road formation
- Storm water drainage, sewage, water supply
- Electrical infrastructure and street lighting
- Parks, amenities, and compound works
- Coordinate land surveys, layout approvals, and infrastructure execution.
- Ensure plotting projects meet DTCP / CMDA guidelines.
7. Team Leadership & Management
- Lead and mentor project managers, engineers, planning teams, QA/QC, and site staff.
- Build high-performance teams across multiple projects.
- Define roles, responsibilities, and KPIs for execution teams.
- Conduct regular progress review meetings.
8. Safety, Health & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure strict implementation of safety norms and HSE policies across all sites.
- Promote a zero-accident culture.
- Monitor safety audits, training, and compliance.
9. Client, Stakeholder & Management Coordination
- Act as the key interface with clients, consultants, investors, and senior management.
- Provide regular progress, cost, and risk reports to the Board / MD.
- Support business teams during technical due diligence and project feasibility.
10. Risk Management & Problem Solving
- Identify project risks related to cost, time, quality, approvals, and manpower.
- Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Handle escalations, disputes, and crisis situations effectively.
