Job Description
Senior Cinematographer
& Video Editor
Full-Time | Work From Office | Swargate, Pune
Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on filmmaker who can independently manage the complete video production workflow—from planning and shooting to editing, colour grading, audio post-production, and final delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong cinematography with excellent storytelling and editing skills, and can deliver polished content efficiently across long-form and short-form formats.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cinematography & On-Location Production
Independently operate cameras and select appropriate lenses, frame rates, exposure settings, and camera movements for each project.
Plan and capture purposeful shots, sequences, B-roll, interviews, and establishing shots that support the intended story.
Set up and manage lighting for interviews, podcasts, corporate shoots, travel content, and other productions.
Handle on-location production logistics, equipment preparation, shot lists, and basic troubleshooting.
Capture clean, usable footage while maintaining visual consistency and continuity throughout a shoot.
2. Video Editing & Storytelling
Edit corporate films, interviews, podcasts, travel videos, cinematic vlogs, event films, and behind-the-scenes content.
Shape raw footage into clear, engaging narratives with strong structure, pacing, and emotional impact.
Create platform-appropriate Reels, YouTube Shorts, teasers, and other short-form cutdowns from longer videos.
Handle footage organisation, multicamera edits, syncing, transitions, titles, subtitles, and visual continuity.
Perform colour correction and grading, sound design, music selection, and final export for the intended platform.
3. Podcast & Audio Production
Set up and operate podcast/interview recording equipment, including microphones, audio interfaces or mixers, headphones, and recording software as required.
Understand microphone placement, gain staging, recording levels, room noise, and basic troubleshooting during recording.
Synchronise multicamera footage and separate audio tracks; clean dialogue, reduce unwanted noise, balance levels, and mix audio for clear speech.
Edit full-length podcast episodes and produce engaging highlight clips and social media snippets.
4. Workflow, Delivery & Collaboration
Manage projects from pre-production and shooting through post-production and final delivery, with minimal supervision.
Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining professional standards and attention to detail.
Organise and back up footage, project files, audio, and exports using a reliable workflow.
Coordinate with the creative team or project stakeholders to understand briefs, incorporate feedback, and deliver the required versions and formats.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3–5 years of relevant experience in cinematography, video production, and editing preferred.
A strong portfolio/showreel demonstrating both camera work and editing—not editing alone.
Hands-on knowledge of professional cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and on-location shooting practices.
Strong storytelling instincts, composition, visual sequencing, pacing, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent professional editing software.
Working knowledge of colour correction/grading, sound design, dialogue cleanup, audio mixing, and multicamera editing.
Practical understanding of podcast audio setups and recording workflows.
Ability to plan, shoot, edit, and deliver content independently and manage multiple assignments.
Preferred / Added Advantage
Experience with Adobe After Effects, motion graphics, or advanced titles.
Experience shooting travel films, documentaries, corporate brand films, interviews, or event content.
Knowledge of camera profiles, codecs, media management, and delivery specifications for different platforms.
Ability to suggest creative treatments, shot ideas, and visual approaches based on a brief.
