Senior Category Manager

Role Overview :

Testbook is seeking a Senior Category Manager – Test Prep to own and scale the Test Preparation category. This role is responsible for end-to-end P&L; ownership, category strategy, assortment planning, pricing, and growth across Testbook's platforms and partner marketplaces. The role requires a strong understanding of exam ecosystems such as SSC, Banking, Railways, Teaching, and State-level exams.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & P&L; Ownership

Own end-to-end P&L; for the Test Prep category

• Define and execute quarterly and annual growth plans

• Drive GMV, revenue, margin, and contribution growth

Assortment & Content Planning

• Build exam-wise, demand-led assortment across courses, practice material, and mock tests • Collaborate with academic, content, and publishing teams

• Identify syllabus gaps and launch new SKUs aligned with exam updates

Pricing, Promotions & Bundling

• Own pricing strategy balancing affordability and margins

• Design exam-specific bundles (mocks + digital access)

• Plan promotions around exam calendars and peak demand periods

Platform & Marketplace Management

• Manage category performance on Testbook.com and external marketplaces

• Ensure high-quality listings, exam mapping, and discoverability

• Partner with marketing teams on category-led campaigns

Analytics & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Track GMV, margins, sell-through, inventory health, and conversion • Lead and mentor Category Managers / Assistant Category Managers

• Work closely with Marketing, Tech, Supply Chain, and Finance teams

Must-Have Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in Category Management, E-commerce, EdTech, microdrama • Strong P&L; ownership experience for exam-oriented or content-led categories

• Deep familiarity with Test Prep or education products

• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and execution skills

• Growth in Test Prep category GMV and revenue

• Margin and contribution improvement

• Exam-wise assortment coverage and launch success

• Inventory efficiency, conversion rate, and learner satisfaction
