About the role:

We are looking for a highly driven Senior Category Manager to own and scale key product categories end-to-end. This role requires a strong blend of business acumen, analytical thinking, and execution capability to drive revenue, profitability, and customer growth across channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the P&L for assigned categories, driving revenue, margins, and growth targets
  • Build and execute category strategy aligned with overall brand and business goals
  • Identify growth opportunities through market trends, consumer insights, and competitive benchmarking
  • Drive assortment planning, pricing strategy, and product lifecycle management
  • Work closely with product development teams to launch new products based on consumer needs and gaps
  • Optimize channel performance across D2C website, marketplaces and quick-commerce platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and execute campaigns, promotions, and launches
  • Monitor and improve key metrics such as conversion, AOV, repeat rate, and contribution margin
  • Manage demand forecasting, inventory planning, and stock health in coordination with supply chain
  • Analyze category performance regularly and drive data-backed decision-making
  • Build strong vendor/supplier relationships and negotiate commercials where applicable
  • Identify and implement process improvements to scale category operations

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8+ years of experience in category management / business / merchandising roles, preferably in D2C, e-commerce, or FMCG
  • Strong understanding of P&L management and business metrics
  • Proven track record of scaling categories or business units
  • High analytical capability with hands-on experience in Excel / data tools
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience working with marketplaces (e.g., Amazon, Nykaa, Flipkart) is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
